Madaleine Baker, PLPC | Move Beyond Survival. Toward Self Leadership. IFS & Attachment Therapist in St. Louis
Feeling Stuck in Relationships, Emotions, or Patterns That Keep Repeating?
Reaching out for therapy is a meaningful step, and I’m glad you’re here. Whether you’re struggling with intense emotions, relationship challenges, questions about your identity, or feeling trapped in patterns that no longer serve you, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I work with teens and adults who want more than just symptom relief—they want a deeper understanding of themselves and lasting change.
Using an Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed approach, I help clients explore the parts of themselves that may be carrying pain, self-criticism, fear, shame, or emotional overwhelm. Together, we’ll work to understand these experiences with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment. My goal is to help you develop a stronger relationship with yourself, improve your relationships with others, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.
I believe healing happens when we feel seen, understood, and supported. Therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique experiences. Whether you’re navigating attachment wounds, relationship struggles, borderline personality disorder, life transitions, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, I’m here to help you build greater self-leadership, emotional resilience, and confidence in who you are.

My Focus: Healing Relationships, Emotions, and the Relationship With Yourself
I create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can address a wide variety of concerns. I support overall well-being and general mental health, with a special focus on helping clients who are navigating:
- Trauma & Anxiety: We’ll work to move beyond feeling constantly overwhelmed, on edge, or carrying the weight of past experiences so you can feel resilient and grounded.
- Relationship Dynamics & Couples: Establishing healthy boundaries and fostering true self-connection, whether you are in a partnership or striving for healthier relational patterns.
- Teens: I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where teens can better understand themselves, build confidence, and develop healthy ways of coping with life’s challenges. Using a compassionate, IFS-informed approach, I help teens strengthen emotional resilience, improve relationships, and cultivate a stronger sense of self. My goal is to help adolescents feel more grounded, connected, and empowered in who they are.
- Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD): Providing expert and compassionate guidance to help you work through the intense emotional struggles and relational challenges associated with BPD
- Grief: Navigating the profound pain of loss with compassionate support, helping you honor your experience while finding a path toward healing and integration at your own pace.

A Practical, Supportive Space to Breathe
My focus is on creating a clear path forward where you can gently address deep-rooted patterns and move toward clarity and confidence. I specialize in trauma-informed care and blend comprehensive training in two powerful modalities:
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy: This approach helps you explore and understand the different parts of yourself with compassion, which is key to overcoming internal conflict, quieting the inner critic, and gaining lasting self-connection.
- Somatic Therapy: We’ll use this to help you reconnect with your body and release the lingering effects of stress and trauma, fostering resilience and emotional freedom.
Professional Experience
My Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Webster University and my experience as a Missouri Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor II (MAADC II) are the foundation upon which my clinical skills were built.
My background includes extensive support for individuals and groups in a rehabilitation setting facing a wide range of addiction and mental health challenges. This environment allowed me to develop expertise in working with all types of diagnoses (including trauma, BPD, and anxiety) and is where I solidified my dedication to specialized methods like IFS Therapy and Somatic Processing.
I bring this specialized expertise and a non-judgmental stance to all my clinical work. This allows me to provide clear, structured guidance to help you navigate the full complexity of your emotions, behaviors, and relationships.
