Hey there! With summer approaching, it’s time to soak up the sun! Many of us are shaking off the winter blues and are excited to jump into summer. As a mental health therapist, I can tell you that spending time outside is one of the best things you can do for your mental well-being. Whether you’re battling seasonal depression or just looking for ways to feel more energized, the great outdoors has so much to offer.

- Sunlight helps regulate your circadian rhythm, leading to better sleep: When you get enough sunlight, your body’s internal clock gets a boost, helping you sleep better at night.
- Vitamin D from sunlight can reduce symptoms of depression: Sunlight is a natural source of vitamin D, which has been shown to alleviate symptoms of depression.
- Practicing mindfulness outdoors can make you feel more relaxed and restored: Taking a few moments to be mindful and present while outside can greatly enhance your sense of relaxation and well-being.
