20 Things That Don’t Equate To Your Worth

We tend to put value on things that don’t actually contribute to our worth as a human. We get stuck in a comparison trap by looking at what we have (or don’t have) and compare it to what others have. Then we take what we feel we are lacking and equate it with our worth as a human.

Here is a list of  20 things that don’t equate to your worth:

  1. The number on the scale
  2. Size pants you wear
  3. The amount of money you have
  4. How many friends do you have
  5. How many family members you have a good relationship with
  6. How much education you have
  7. How big of a house you have
  8. The type of car you drive
  9. How many social media followers you have
  10.  How old or young you are
  11. What type of job you have
  12. Breed of cat/dog you have
  13. How many plants you own
  14. The brand of shoes you have
  15. Where you have been on vacation
  16. How many miles you run
  17. How much weight you can lift
  18. What kind of grade you have/had
  19. Where you live
  20. The number of kids you have

Society might view you a certain way based on where you live, the money you have, how much you weigh, etc. however, your worth does not depend on these things. You are human deserving of love, kindness, respect, and belonging. It’s not what others or society thinks about you, life is about what you think about yourself. Don’t allow others to place value on you. Only you get to place value on yourself.

Add to my list! What are others things that don’t equate to your worth? Tell me in the comments
