When getting to know the person you are dating it’s important that you notice the red flags of an unhealthy relationship. It’s likely this could take some time, not everyone shows their true colors out of the gate. Some can come up quickly like on the first date he gets waisted and others take time like finding out he has bad anger issues. So what are some red flags of an unhealthy relationship?

1. Abuse Of Any Kind

This is a major red flag of an unhealthy relationship. Runaway, quick girlfriend. You can’t fix them. It’s not your job. No one’s love is worth abuse. If it happened once it’s likely to happen again. Your safety is non-negotiable. Take care of you first.

2. They never apologize

Not being able to admit when they are wrong is a sign of an emotionally immature person. Emotionally mature people can see what they did wrong and own up to it.  There are times when people can get stubborn and not apologize but when the person refuses to even listen to how you’ve been hurt. Take it as you sign of a red flag of an unhealthy relationship.

3. Controlling behavior

Controlling behavior looks like telling you what to wear, where you can go, and who you can hang out with. This is different from suggesting because suggestion implies you can say no. Control is when it feels like you have to do what they want or they will get mad, manipulate, or get back at you.

These are just some of the red flags of an unhealthy relationship to look out for. What’s important to know is that you can decide to leave a relationship at any point in time. The earlier you detect these red flags the easier it is to leave.
