Empowerment Model

Empowering means to become someone who is strong and more confident. Empowerment comes from within, usually locked away by the negative self-dialogue we hold. At the root of our disempowerment usually lies a voice telling us we can't, we are not good enough, or we don’t deserve it. By exploring those myths and finding out where they came from you can begin to break the chains that are holding you back. Challenging the negative inner voices is not an easy task. With my help, things can be brought to light that you may never have seen before.

I work from what I call an empowerment model. In therapy, you will learn to see your value and to stand up for yourself. This can mean setting boundaries, saying no, and finally putting yourself first without the guilt. I find that so many people are looking to gain control in their life. Through this model, you are the driver. You have the final say in what your treatment looks like. This is empowerment.

That empowerment extends to outside the therapy room. It becomes a tool to use in everyday situations. This may mean managing your anxiety and stress. You can create loving relationships where you feel valued and wanted. Empowerment gives you tools to set firm boundaries and discuss your needs without fear of hurting others.
